Allen Cunningham
Allen Cunningham was born in California in 1977, and he attended UCLA, majoring in engineering. He started playing poker during his college days and enjoyed success at the local casinos. That success convinced him to drop out of school, and he was only twenty-one when he became a professional player.
When he was twenty-two, Allen got his first big break, winning the "Best All Around Player" award from the Bicycle Casino's Legends of Poker. His performance improved over the years,
and in 2005, he won the WSOP championship for no-limit hold 'em.
Cunningham has won three WSOP titles, and the first two came in 2002's deuce-to-seven no-limit and seven card stud events. In 2004, he won the five-star World Poker Championship, and he has made three WSOP final tables. He may not be the most well-known player, but Cunningham is quite popular among his fellow players. He actually enjoys the relative anonymity, and his fellow players describe him as professional, likable and quiet.
Allen Cunningham has been a professional player for over ten years, and he has a low-key playing style. His approach is both analytical and solid, making him a genuine threat to more aggressive and instinct-driven players. If he's not playing in a tournament, he plays cash games such as no-limit hold 'em. Allen Cunningham plays online at Full Tilt Poker, as a friend of FTP, and he does so under his own name according to The Online Poker Millionaire.
Some of the younger poker stars like the attention, and they parlay their newfound celebrity status by appearing in video games, television shows and by doing modeling work. Allen Cunningham has done none of that- instead, he has quietly amassed five WSOP wins and over ten million dollars in tournament cash. During that time, Cunningham has managed to keep a low profile.
